Our products are handcrafted in small batches using the highest-quality ingredients to ensure maximum freshness in each and every item you receive. For safety reasons, and where absolutely required, we use paraben-free, formaldehyde-free preservatives in some products but greatly minimize this as much as possible, keeping our products as close to all-natural as we can. If by "testing" you mean using (pet-safe) products on our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels? Absolutely!!  Do we or would we ever condone animal testing? Absolutely not! We love and respect our furry friends and never test on animals! Additionally, all of our suppliers are ethically and sustainably sourced.

Yes, we can create any type of packages/favors based on your needs. Many clients love putting together a variety of products and sample-size items for gifts. We also can provide wedding gifts - for just the wedding party and/or the guests. Preservatives in skincare products seem to get a bad rap these days and, while there are certainly some less-than-desirable options out there, consider them the "necessary evil." But also consider the alternative - skincare that DOESN'T contain a preservative (yikes!).

A preservative can be considered the "necessary evil" because it is one additional ingredient in your product, but choosing the right preservative is key. Skincare products can provide a nice, moist environment for contamination, bacteria, mold, fungi, etc. to grow - which is far worse for your skin than a safe preservative.

While we avoid the use of preservatives when safely possible, some products require a preservative system to protect you from products susceptible to harmful contamination and microbial growth (i.e., products containing water and/or exposed to water). Preservatives are also necessary to protect the natural ingredients, as these have a much shorter shelf life and are sensitive to light, oxygen, humidity, temperature, etc. 

But rest assured, Taboodoir has done its due diligence in researching and sourcing the safest options available. We have chosen broad-spectrum preservatives (effective against bacteria, mold, and yeast) that are paraben- and formaldehyde-free and provide optimized protection against possible contamination and microbial growth.

Natural ingredients have a shorter shelf life compared to conventional products - and for good reason! We don't want synthetic ingredients and preservatives in our products. Absolutely worth the shorter shelf life!

Our products are not "mass-produced," but handcrafted in small batches and contain sensitive plant oils and herbal ingredients - these ingredients have a very limited shelf life and our preservatives are milder. In addition, the whole product is more sensitive to light, oxygen, humidity, temperature, etc., so it is especially important to protect your products from exposure to these conditions as much as possible.  

Because our products are made with natural ingredients, we recommend using exfoliation products within 8-10 months of purchase and body butter, lotions, creams within one (1) year of purchase. Although our Bath Pleasures can be stored for a year as well, they are meant to be used within 3 to 4 months to maximize the sensorial experience, potency, and effectiveness.  

All products should be kept tightly sealed, out of the heat, and away from direct sunlight. Best if stored at or below room temperature and in a dry place to protect the integrity and freshness of the products.

Our products are made with the intention of enjoying them right away - BUT, rest assured, when you order from Taboodoir, your products are always made fresh to order!

Our thought is...once you try the products, you cannot resist them, and shelf life then becomes a moot point!
