I didn’t set out to start a skincare brand.
I set out to reclaim myself.
The spark came from a gift—a heart-shaped bath bar crafted with love by my husband and daughter, during a time I was struggling to feel whole. That small act of care, of sensory escape, reignited something in me. It reminded me that self-care is never selfish—it’s sacred.
At the same time, my corporate career came to a screeching halt thanks to the pandemic chaos of 2020. I was left asking, “What now?”
The answer was waiting in my own bathtub: a fusion of science, sensuality, and soul. I began to pour my passion into researching natural ingredients, obsessing over textures, aromas, and efficacy—just like I had years ago in the lab. My husband, David, handled the logistics and tech like a pro, while I conjured up our first formulas. We were the perfect team.
But just as Taboodoir was preparing to launch, the unthinkable happened. David—my amazing partner in life and in this dream—passed away unexpectedly.
The world stopped. I almost did too.
But in the silence, his voice still echoed:

Before I became the founder of Taboodoir, I was the girl in the lab—tweezing termites under a microscope and studying the molecular structure of orange oil.
I didn’t just play scientist. I was one. An award-winning, BBC-interviewed, Clinton-meeting, science-fair-dominating teenage prodigy obsessed with natural solutions long before “clean beauty” was a thing.
Fast-forward past a 15-year detour in software sales, motherhood, and a pandemic that flipped everything upside down—and I found myself right back where I started: in a lab. But this time, I was formulating body soufflés instead of botanical pesticides.
Taboodoir was born from grief, passion, and the need to create something sensual, beautiful, and rebellious. Every ingredient is chosen with intention. Every texture is tested until it melts just right. Every scent is designed to stir something in you.
