Our Inspiration, Our Birth
Hello! My name is Nan, and I am the owner and Founder of Taboodoir. The seed of inspiration was planted when my husband and our daughter set out to create a luxurious bath bar for me as a gift. The initial idea was to replace a favorite of mine from a leading bath product retailer, which was out of stock at the time. However, the result was something even better than the original.
I was extremely impressed and more than overjoyed with their creation. As a result, I became obsessed (self-admittedly, overly obsessed!) with learning more about all of the beautiful butters and oils, essential oils, and raw ingredients that make sensuous body products.
I happened to be at a juncture in my life - faced with an abrupt career disruption due to COVID-19 and asking myself, "What now?!?"
As the saying goes...everything happens for a reason, and the gift from my husband and daughter helped me figure out the next chapter in my life. It was at that moment I knew we were meant to start our own business creating amazing handcrafted bath and body products for all to enjoy (and no better way to spend your time during a global pandemic!). This is when Taboodoir came to life!

Since the beginning of 2021, I have spent countless hours researching ingredients, enrolled in Formula Botanica (working on several diplomas and certifications in natural, organic skincare formulation), and developing different bath, body, and skincare products. I immersed myself in creating and perfecting our products, while my husband, David, was busy handling the operations and technical side of the business - we were the perfect team, a dynamic duo!! And then the unexpected happened...
We were actively promoting the launch of the business when David abruptly and unexpectedly passed away. My entire world came to a screeching halt, and I wasn't sure if I could continue down the path. I finally decided to move forward in his honor, especially since the entire concept was borne from the gift he and our daughter created for me. He also came up with our business name and was my biggest cheerleader throughout the process. Navigating has been incredibly difficult, to say the very least, but David remains very much at the heart and passion that drives me today. His mantras continue to encourage me and inspire the Taboodoir brand. ♥
